I was looking at this Nan Lawson image today and thinking about how it embodies how I feel right now. I am desperately clinging to hope while feeling like I just want to fly away. I'm supposed to feel happy about Mother's Day on Sunday but I'm not. I'm struggling with being sick while dealing with the constant conflict within my family. I can't take it anymore. I just can't.
Emily Dickinson said,
"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard..."
Well, I am definitely in the midst of that gale and I'm clinging to my hope.

Amy,
Oh, how I would love to have you sitting here in my kitchen right now. Let me help you with your feathers on your wings---don't take flight little sweet birdie. Rest in the nest God put you in. You can email me ANY time, I will answer. My Mark & I are celebrating 30 years of marriage this month---trust me, I've learned a thing or two about conflict. Hugs and love, your friend Heidi
